We love the Chelsea Flower Show – and the Chelsea Fringe! Did you know, we’ve even been on TV (!) – on Gardener’s World, as a result of some of the things we’ve done. Here are our highlights so far.. and we have our thinking caps on for next year already! Appearance One at the Chelsea Fringe – “Veg Out” – Knitted Veg workshops! A few years ago, we ran … knitting workshops with a garden & plant theme! Here’s what our entry was, and why Gardener’s World, Time Out, and The Telegraph’s Round up of Best of the Fringe loved what we did! “Veg knit along, Battersea Flower Station, SW11 – every week until 9 June Drop in knitting workshops focused on knitting garden produce and bugs. VEG OUT takes place within the magical garden centre that is Battersea Flower Station and is suitable for novices, newcomers, and the experienced knitter”. Appearance Two at the Chelsea Fringe – an interactive Theatre Experience at Battersea Flower Station An interactive piece of contemporary theatre. Nature and the garden offer brilliant metaphors for life and personal growth. The piece explored the universal themes of change, growth and resilience through spoken word and movement. The audience were taken on a journey through the Battersea Flower Station (a very long and magical site in the heart of London), meeting the inhabitants of the whimsical fantasy garden along the way. At the end of the journey they were invited to take a wish seed from the wishing tree. Each wish seed was hung on the branches of the wishing tree, creating a living installation blossoming with the wishes.
